Staff Accountant
Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial operations and compliance within the organization. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, oversee tax and regulatory compliance, handle the general ledger, validate data, manage expenses, and provide budgetary oversight. You will also be involved in managing grants, restricted funds, in-kind donations, and conducting financial analysis. Additionally, you will lead month-end close processes, participate in annual audits, develop SOPs, and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.Ensure tax and regulatory compliance.Maintain and oversee the general ledger.Validate financial data and manage expenses.Provide budgetary oversight and financial analysis.Handle grants, restricted funds, and in-kind donations.Lead month-end close processes and participate in annual audits.Develop standard operating procedures and prepare financial reports.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.Proficiency in QuickBooks and general ledger management.Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable.Knowledge of grants and journal entry processes.Strong skills in bookkeeping and financial reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Prior experience in non-profit accounting and grant management is highly preferred.Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.Familiarity with Monday.com.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite for 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. The organization provides a supportive work environment with daily catered lunches. Employees enjoy a generous benefits package, including 13 holidays, a shutdown week during Christmas and the 4th of July, 2 weeks PTO, 2 weeks sick leave, 3 days of bereavement leave, 3 days for jury duty, and 3 personal days. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
