Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lewisville, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of financial accounts and ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance. You will play a key part in handling month-end processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting budgeting efforts. Responsibilities: • Oversee the month-end closing process for multiple properties, ensuring timely completion and accurate financial statements. • Conduct thorough bank reconciliations for both operating and escrow accounts. • Prepare and review journal entries, as well as accounting adjustments, to maintain precise records. • Analyze financial statements to detect discrepancies and implement solutions proactively. • Generate and distribute periodic financial reports, including monthly and quarterly statements, to stakeholders. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting tasks, providing valuable insights for financial planning. • Maintain detailed accounting schedules for depreciation, amortization, taxes, insurance, and escrow. • Compile necessary documents for audits, tax filings, and cost certifications, ensuring compliance. • Prepare cash flow reports on a weekly basis for executive review and decision-making. • Support property management teams with accounts payable inquiries and technical accounting guidance. Requirements • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including preparation and compliance. • Proficiency in handling sales tax and corporate tax returns. • Experience with journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes. • Expertise in preparing financial reports and schedules for audits and compliance. • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
