Job: Staff Accountant

Location: Norman, OK
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Range: $30.00-35.00/hour, depending on experience and performance.

Position Overview

Our Beacon Hill OKC Finance team is working with a growing energy client seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.

This role focuses on general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, invoicing, payroll, and financial reporting across multiple entities. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to process improvements.

This is a full-time, on-site role with a standard Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule. Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end closings or peak periods (e.g., tax season) to meet business and reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly financial reports and summarize account informationMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, research discrepanciesProcess customer billing and payment reconciliationsPrepare payroll entries and month-end accrualsCollaborate with operational personnel and intercompany accounting staffSupport internal audits and document compliance with internal controlsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processesAssist with light administrative tasks and other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accountingBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldProficiency with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookExperience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus, but not requiredPending employment is contingent upon meeting the company's health and safety compliance requirements
