The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including month-end closing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting tasks. This role encompasses project-based accounting responsibilities, such as managing pay-when-paid AP processes and assisting Project Leads with AR documentation. The role involves compiling lien waivers, preparing invoice packages, performing weekly cash analysis, and completing monthly bank reconciliations. The individual will engage in cross-training efforts across entities, identify opportunities to streamline processes, and enhance overall organizational efficiency. ResponsibilitiesSupport the CFO in key accounting functions.Participate in month-end closing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable tasks.Conduct reconciliations and financial reporting.Handle project-based accounting responsibilities, including pay-when-paid AP processes.Assist Project Leads with AR documentation.Compile lien waivers and prepare invoice packages.Perform weekly cash analysis and complete monthly bank reconciliations.Engage in cross-training across entities.Identify opportunities to streamline processes and support organizational efficiency.Essential SkillsProficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.General accounting skills.Experience with month-end closing, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement support.Experience with project-based AP and AR processes.Ability to perform reconciliations, including weekly cash analysis and monthly bank reconciliations.Strong documentation and accuracy skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum 4–7 years of experience in an accounting role or currently pursuing an accounting/finance degree.Strong working knowledge of Excel.QuickBooks experience is preferred but not required.Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Dependable, detail-oriented, and accurate in work.Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.Demonstrated ability to learn, embrace new tools, and participate in process improvements.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with direct exposure to the CFO and other key stakeholders.
