Staff Accountant
Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description

An opportunity exists for a results-oriented professional to join the accounting function of the finance team in Bohemia, NY. This role involves accounting experience in a manufacturing environment and requires a solid understanding of large ERP software systems, US GAAP, and SOX compliance principles. The main focus will be to support the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions while utilizing fundamental accounting theories and concepts. This position offers a significant opportunity for career development and growth.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily journal entries and general accounting tasks.Process invoices received via physical mail, email, and web portals.Assist with billing and invoicing tasks.Handle credit/re-bill transactions and conduct necessary investigations.Review purchase orders pending matches and enter receipts as required.Monitor and manage unbilled revenue files, ensuring overdue items remain under 90 days.Contribute to the preparation of reporting packages, improving their usefulness and efficiency.Complete ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Essential Skills

1-3 years of accounting experience, including internships.Experience with ERP systems at a General Ledger (G/L) level.Ability to work independently; self-motivated with a high bias for action.Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP concepts with proven technical accounting skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.MBA or CMA is preferred.

Work Environment

The position requires on-site work from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Bohemia, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
