We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage various accounting functions. This role involves overseeing accounts payable, payroll processing, accounts receivable, and preparing schedules for grants and donor-related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, with the ability to analyze and improve workflow processes.
ResponsibilitiesManage Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor account maintenance, expense report review, and payment preparation.Oversee Payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies, and maintaining payroll records.Handle Accounts Receivable activities, including preparing invoices, applying payments, and maintaining aging accounts.Prepare schedules to support grants, programs, and donor-related activities.Assist with fixed asset inventory and recordkeeping.Analyze workflow processes and recommend improvements.Perform account maintenance, prepare accounting schedules, reconciliations, and record entries.Prepare documentation, internal and ad-hoc reporting, and analysis for Executive Management, Department Heads, and Board of Directors.Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills3+ years of corporate accounting experience.Experience in Healthcare or Nonprofit sectors is preferred.Understanding of Accrued Expenses, Reconciliations, Journal entries, and month-end procedures.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.2-4 years of experience in accounting transactions, reconciliations, and variance reports.Proficiency in commercial accounting systems, including Abila MIP and SAGE Intacct.Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable.
Additional Skills & QualificationsPayroll experience is preferred.Grants experience is preferred.Experience in the Healthcare sector is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, operating under Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Time (CT) hours.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
