We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply fees and commission cash receipts across multiple entities, address inquiries from stakeholders across various lines of business, and partner with team members to develop process efficiencies. This role involves creating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely cash receipt applications. You will prepare journal entries, manage money moves, payments, billing, and prepare administrative system accounting reports and consolidated statements.
ResponsibilitiesApply fees and commission cash receipts across multiple entities.Address inquiries from stakeholders across various lines of business.Partner with team members to develop process efficiencies.Create and maintain relationships with stakeholders for accurate and timely cash receipt applications.Prepare journal entries, money moves, payments, billing, and administrative system accounting reports.Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts and/or client insured records.Prepare and analyze various accounting reports including variances to forecast, budget, and prior year.Coordinate revenue and expense accruals; ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close.Perform variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts or reports.Apply funds to insured records and process refunds to insured records.Request payments for carriers and third parties, with findings potentially presented to senior management, partners, carriers, or clients.Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures, and process improvements.Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures, tax regulations, local GAAP, and US GAAP and local statutory regulations regarding financial matters.Essential SkillsExperience with general ledger management.Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting cash reconciliation.Ability to perform cash flow analysis and commission-related tasks.1-3 years of accounting experience.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree or equivalent experience required.A college degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline is a plus.Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work environment. The initial 4 to 8 weeks of training will be conducted in the office, after which in-office days will be reduced as the candidate's knowledge base increases. Once a solid base knowledge is acquired, the role will transition to a hybrid model. The team works in the office every Tuesday and every other Monday.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
