Staff Accountant
Senior Staff Accountant Job Description The Senior Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in supporting operations by performing various duties such as account reconciliations, journal entries to support month-end close, daily cash/bank account activity reviews, and acting as a backup for payables and receivables roles. The position also involves preparing month-end reports, including shipment trend reports, cash/investments trend analyses, investment scorecards, and profit and loss trend schedules. Responsibilities + Review and upload weekly payroll files into the ERP system. + Review and upload weekly/monthly medical expenses into the ERP system. + Prepare and issue monthly spreadsheets including P&L Trends, Cash & Investments Trends, 401 K Plan analysis, Profit Sharing analysis, and Investment Scorecard. + Prepare monthly journal entries such as Prepaid Deposit Reclass, Commission accrual and adjustment to actual, Currency Reserve adjustment, Foreign Cash Flux, Liquidity Dividend, and RMA adjustment. + Prepare quarterly journal entries for Investment Income and Inventory adjustment to actual. + Prepare and issue bi-monthly Backlog and Shipment Trend Report. + Prepare quarterly ISO Schedules and Charts. + Conduct monthly analysis of P&L Trend for manufacturing. + Prepare and issue monthly RMA charts and analysis. + Reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly (currently about 30). + Prepare semi-annual Product Line P&Ls. + Prepare annual audit schedules and assist with the year-end close process. + Conduct annual R&D Credit Analysis. + Act as backup for the Cost Accountant position. + Backup to generate Daily Shipment Reports and Weekly ACHs. + Backup for Weekly Employee Payment and Travel Report Auditing. + Write or update procedures as required for all responsibilities. + Perform other projects as assigned by Manager or CFO. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing background . + Proficiency with CloudSuite version 9. + Staff accounting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree in accounting preferred. + High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Familiarity with month-end closings. + Ability to manage time to meet multiple deadlines. Work Environment The work schedule is from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 100% on-site. The role is part of a small finance team, including a CFO, AP/AR, senior director, supervisor, and financial analyst. The team provides support and collaboration as needed.
