Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a respected university. This role involves performing journal entries, supporting month-end close processes, assisting with audits, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have Accounts Payable experience to serve as a backup when needed.
ResponsibilitiesPerform journal entries and ensure accuracy in financial records.Support month-end close processes and prepare necessary reports.Assist with audits, providing required documentation and information.Prepare and analyze financial reports to support university operations.Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable functions when necessary.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting.At least 3 years of accounting experience including month-end close and journal entries.Strong understanding of general ledger and financial reporting.Accounts Payable experience is ideal for backup duties.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ERP systems more robust than QuickBooks.Capital asset management experience.Audit support experience.Team player with excellent communication skills.Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment within a university campus. It is a full-time on-site role requiring 37.5 hours per week with working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, including a half-hour lunch break. You will be part of a team of kind individuals working towards a common goal, with opportunities for growth and development in a respected institution.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.77 - $30.77/hr.
