We are looking for Staff Engineer who can drive design, architecture & delivery of our next generation platforms keeping scalability, robustness and security aspects in focus. The platforms you build will be used across multiple countries with each of them being a multi billion dollar business for Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that spans across multiple countries and large number of users & data.
About Team and Position Summary:
Walmart Commerce Technologies’ mission is to enable businesses worldwide to better serve their customers with technologies and SaaS solutions powered by Walmart. Our team was established in 2022 and we are transforming scaled Walmart technologies into white-label offerings for other retailers and sellers. We’ve launched Store Assist, an out-of-the box, mobile-first store fulfillment application and are accelerating our pipeline of future products.
Walmart Commerce Technologies team you will have the opportunity to work on commercializing mature enterprise systems and enabling them for retailers. You will build a new SaaS product and ensure engineering excellence. What you'll do:
Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide drive value from products we build at Walmart Scale Work very closely with various business and technology stakeholders to drive the execution of multiple technology initiatives Explore new technologies and run POCs that can add to the future technology roadmap for the team Help hire, develop, upskill and mentor a strong team of engineers. Take part in design, architecture and code reviews across different work streams Work in high performing agile team environment - sharing innovative ideas and working collaboratively across teams. Work with talented engineers and product visionaries to contribute to the vision and design of our web and mobile products. Be a product-oriented Full Stack Engineer creating and experimenting with new ideas that will engage and excite our customers Own and lead the delivery of products working along with a team of junior developers Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community. Experience performing root cause analysis on applications to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. Utilize industry research to improve Sam’s technology environment.What you'll bring:
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree with 12+ years of experience in Computer Science or related field. Strong understanding of responsive design techniques and principles. Extensive experience in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, AJAX, GraphQL, React Native, React, Redux, Webpack and Node. Understanding of Android frameworks will be add-on. Experience in developing Responsive UI and having UX skills is a big plus. Experience writing unit tests using Jasmine, Mocha, Enzyme and Mockito. Experience writing functional tests using tools such as Nightwatch.js and Test Armada. Good to have knowledge in Java programming and JVM internals (concurrency, multi-threading). Working knowledge in data structures, SQL technologies. Experience with storage technologies such as MongoDB, Elastic Search, Hive, Cassandra, Hadoop and Kafka are good to have. Cloud Development experience Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices with experience on implementing CI/CD, Log aggregation/Monitoring/alerting for production system. Very good expertise in production support related activities (issue identification, resolution) Good to have experience in driving architecture, design and development of distributed systems focusing on high scalability, availability and extensibility Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices with experience on implementing CI/CD, Log aggregation/Monitoring/alerting for production system.
