About the Team

Walmart’s Accelerated Pick Up & Delivery (APD) program is transforming how customer orders are fulfilled through automation in the back of our stores. These APD-enabled locations use Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) to streamline fulfillment—reducing cost while enhancing speed and accuracy.

The APD product team works closely with Global Tech, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Supply Chain partners to integrate automation technology into Walmart’s omnichannel ecosystem. Together, we are building the future of retail by optimizing item assortment, enabling automation-ready inbound workflows, and ensuring seamless pre-order fulfillment.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Manager – Accelerated Pick Up & Delivery, you will lead strategy and execution across assortment optimization / pre-order fulfillment orchestration. Your work ensures that the right items are eligible, prepared, and stocked into automation—maximizing throughput, reducing costs, and improving customer and associate experiences.

What You’ll Do

Own and drive the product roadmap for APD assortment / pre-order fulfillment within APD.Define and optimize APD processes (item selection, receiving, decant, ICQA, automation readiness) to maximize throughput.Increase output of units through automation by selecting most optimized assortment and enabling Walmart to fulfill as many units through automation as possible.Collaborate with eligibility, catalog, replenishment, and inventory management teams to improve accuracy, throughput, and availability.Partner with engineering, merchandising, replenishment, and operations teams to integrate APD workflows with external automation system and internal Walmart platforms.Build scalable solutions that integrate across store operations, WMS, and automation platforms.Define and track KPIs such as automation throughput, fill rates, cancellations, inventory accuracy, and inbound labor cost per unit.Balance customer expectations, associate usability, and automation system constraints to deliver best-in-class solutions.Manage and direct production defects to ensure issues are fixed in a timely manner.Mentor and influence PMs, contributing to Walmart’s AI-first product culture.

AI-First Mindset:

Automate and accelerate product work using AI tools (e.g., PRDs, Jira tickets, process mapping).Use AI / ML tools to enhance item selection validation, inbound/ICQA orchestration, and workflow simulation.Enhance decision-making with AI-powered synthesis of operational data and trade-offs.

What You’ll Bring

7+ years of product management experience, ideally in supply chain, fulfillment, inventory, or warehouse automation.Strong understanding of assortment placement with a focus on enhancing fulfillment accuracy, speed, and cost-efficiency.Familiarity with ASRS, WMS, and automation systems.Understanding of store processes and handling requirement needs.Strong understanding of assortment placement, inventory workflows, and retail processes.Analytical skills with experience applying data, AI, and simulation techniques for decision-making.Proven ability to align cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders.Track record of building and scaling backend or platform products across multiple teams.Leadership in driving clarity through ambiguity, mentoring others, and shaping product culture.

Throughput: Increase % of units flowing through automation.Accuracy: Improve ICQA compliance and assortment eligibility.Labor Optimization: Reduce inbound labor cost per unit.Scalability: Enable repeatable, automation-ready processes across APD-enabled stores.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
