Sr. UX Researcher, Product Management, Infrastructure Engineering
Description Are you energized by the opportunity to redesign the way Amazon builds, deploys, and supports essential tech infrastructure at massive scale? OpsTech Infrastructure Engineering (OTIE) team—part of Amazon Fulfillment, Technologies and Robotics—is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to lead mixed-method, user-centered research on end-user devices for global fulfillment centers, transportation hubs (Middle Mile, Last Mile, Logistics), and specialty service areas (Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, Prime Air). You’ll uncover customer needs and pain points and partner with product managers, engineers, and designers to improve experience of internal users who rely on highly complex tech infrastructure products and services to keep Amazon’s logistics engine running. Key job responsibilities - Lead research initiatives across multiple infrastructure products. - Identify research opportunities, define study goals, and choose appropriate methodologies (e.g. contextual inquiry, field studies, surveys, etc). - Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and UX designers to ensure insights directly inform product design, workflows, and prioritization. - Drive cross-functional alignment around key customer needs and pain points through journey maps, personas, and opportunity frameworks. - Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to deliver compelling, actionable insights in formats that influence stakeholders at all levels. - Advocate for the voice of the customers in a fast-paced, iterative environment, while balancing engineering feasibility and business impact. - Develop and maintain scalable research practices and documentation to raise the UX research bar across OTIE. About the team OpsTech IT organization, with an unparalleled scope, is part of the Amazon’s WW Operations & Robotics team. We design, deploy and support IT infrastructure, devices and Services across Amazon’s Global Fulfillment Centers, Transportation (Middle Mile, Last Mile & Logistics), and Specialty Customer Solutions (Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Lockers, Pantry, Campus, and Prime Air). Our customers range from Amazon lockers to Amazon’s Air Hubs. OpsTech Infrastructure Product Management (OTIP) owns, defines, and operationalizes products and programs to deliver highly reliable IT infrastructure and world class IT support, with the direct objective to bend down the HC gearing ratio, improve service delivery speed, and drive new innovations for customers. OTIP establishes, practices, and enforces Ops Tech IT’s product development life cycle. The team supports global operations customers (first, middle, last mile) and internal teams. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of professional experience conducting full lifecycle UX research using a wide variety of methods (qualitative & quantitative). - Proven track record of delivering insights that influence product decisions and business outcomes. - Experience recruiting and conducting research with enterprise users or frontline operations personnel. - Strong facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills—comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences. - Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in infrastructure, enterprise IT, developer tools, or hardware products. - Experience working in agile product development cycles and adapting research timelines accordingly. - Strong quantitative background—survey design, analytics, and ability to integrate qualitative data with operational metrics. - Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike. - Master’s degree in Human Factors, HCI, Behavioral Science, or related discipline.
