Sr. Technical Program Manager, Visual Search, Visual Search

A day in the life We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Managers to partner with Product Managers (PMTs)/Engineers to (1) develop delightful experiences for customers to shop using Visual Search; (2) identify, own and scale the selection of products where Visual Search shopping can increase customer value; (3) manage the delivery of our experiences in WW markets. About the hiring team You will be part of the Visual Search team. Our team comprises of designers, product managers, engineers, scientists and operators who obsess over customer problems and find inventive ways to solve them. We believe that it is Day One for Visual Search aided shopping experiences and you will be working on building the future with us. Job responsibilities The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, has experience leading large projects, and has a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, your responsibilities will include writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate operations and implementation efforts, coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, destroy limits to scale, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. This role will require high judgement on how we can deliver for customers in both the short- and long-term. Key job responsibilities As a Senior TPM you will: • Enable transparency and decision-making across Visual Search leadership by providing critical communication and clear status of the initiatives you own. • Manage technical programs to continuously improve our capabilities as VS continues to grow. • Work across orgs to ensure we continue merging internal support capabilities with best-in-class customer experience as new services and features are launched. • Unify distributed engineering efforts and own plans to deliver quality outcomes for our customers. • Bring your expertise, problem solving skills, and creativity to add value to our team. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience - 3+ years of software development experience - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
