Sr. Technical Program Manager, MADS Traffic Reporting
Description Passionate about Big Data and Distributed Systems? Interested in building new state-of-the-art products at Petabyte scale? Be part of a team of industry leading experts that operates one of the largest big data analytics platforms at Amazon. We are responsible for end to end processing of impressions, views, and clicks. We are applying the latest machine learning and big data technologies available on terabytes of data a day (about 100B new events per day) operating Petabyte size clusters. Our data must always be the fastest, most high fidelity data as it is both billable, critical to checking the heartbeat of a campaign and changes to made to the campaigns while in flight, and part of the measure of success for a campaign. Candidates for this position should, demonstrate leadership skills with analytical abilities and an drive to deliver results. This opportunity requires deep technical, problem-solving and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: - Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects - Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans - Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines - Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on plans, status, and critical issues - Partner as a technical liaison between customers and engineering teams Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience - 3+ years of software development experience - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design - Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
