Exciting opportunity to be a part of a brand new best-in-class product & engineering team to create the world’s best and largest airline. At United Airlines, the Sr.Scrum Master/DeliveryLead is an individual contributor responsible for enabling consistent, predictable delivery for Agile teams supporting customer data, identity, and advertising technology platforms. This role applies standard Agile and SAFe practices, partners closely with Product and Engineering, and ensures delivery commitments are met with transparency and quality. The L4 role emphasizes hands-on execution, team-level accountability, and clear communication, with developing influence across adjacent teams but without enterprise-wide ownership.

· Agile Facilitation:

o Guide and support Agile teams by facilitating Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives

o Drive sprint and iteration delivery by tracking commitments, velocity, capacity, and delivery health, and by ensuring work progresses according to plan.

o Maintain Jira delivery hygiene by managing boards, workflows, dashboards, and reporting to provide accurate and transparent delivery status.

o Identify, track, and eliminate blockers to team progress through problem-solving and escalation

o Partner with leadership and functional groups to resolve dependencies and constraints

o Organize and lead Program Increment (PI) planning and align team on a shared mission

· Collaboration:

o Collaborate with team members and product managers on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks

o Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning with the team

o Organize and conduct training sessions to enhance team members’ skills in Agile methodologies

o Collaborate with engineering and architecture partners to understand technical scope and sequencing, particularly for data pipelines, identity services, APIs, and platform integrations.

· Delivery Oversight:

o Ensure teams are delivering work in alignment with sprint goals and release timelines

o Use Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) to provide insight into team performance and opportunities for improvement

o Support the team and stakeholders in adapting to changes in project scope or direction

· Stakeholder Communication:

o Act as a bridge between product managers, developers, QA, and stakeholders

o Provide clear and consistent updates on team progress at various levels, risks, and delivery commitments

o Identify delivery risks and impediments early, escalate appropriately, and work with partners to support timely resolution.

· Agile Maturity & Continuous Improvement:

o Promote and support the adoption of Agile best practices across teams and departments

o Lead retrospectives and drive actionable outcomes that enhance team efficiency and morale

Qualifications

Qualifications 

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

· Bachelor's degree

· Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

· 5+ years in technology development roles as Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Delivery lead

· Strong understanding of SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile frameworks

· Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps

· Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills

· Ability to lead by example, demonstrating strong servant leadership and a focus on team empowerment

· Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment, with a strong focus on delivering value

· Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively, keeping the team focused on achieving sprint goals

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple teams or projects concurrently

· Technical Mindset and must understand basic Software development principles and modern day cloud technologies including CI/CD, Devops principles

· Eager to automate and reduce process overhead, Think Simple !

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

· Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

 

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

· Master's degree

· Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or SAFe Agilist (SA) highly desirable

· Experience as a scrum master, agile coach, or in a similar role within an Agile environment

· Experience in an environment involving DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud-based application delivery

· Familiarity with Agile frameworks

· Exposure to Agile transformations and change management

· Background in software development or technical project delivery is a plus

· Experience supporting customer data platforms, identity solutions, or advertising / marketing technology

· Familiarity with event-based data, APIs, and data pipelines

· Experience with cloud-native platforms, preferably AWS


The base pay range for this role is $112,480.00 to $146,540.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
