Sr. Risk Manager, Worldwide Risk Team
Description The Senior WW Risk Manager will spearhead the development and implementation of a robust risk profiling system across Amazon's global operations. This includes designing, developing, testing, implementing, verifying, and continually improving data management and integration systems to support comprehensive risk profiling. The role will involve extensive engagement, collaboration, and partnership with Amazon businesses, geographical units, and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and other functions (i.e., field operations, legal, engineering, data scientists, business intelligence engineers, purchasing) to ensure seamless data flow and accurate risk profile generation. A key focus will be establishing and refining the methodology for creating detailed risk profiles for various operational units and business functions. This includes defining data requirements, developing data collection processes, and integrating disparate data sources into a centralized risk profiling platform. The manager will ensure data integrity and accuracy, establishing quality control measures and data validation protocols. This role will drive the integration of risk profiling data with existing data management systems, enabling real-time risk monitoring and analysis. The position requires a self-driven, independent, and hands-on approach, emphasizing stakeholder understanding, data analysis, system integration, and risk management. Travel will be required approximately 20-30% locally and internationally. Key job responsibilities • Risk Profile Development and Management: Design, implement, and oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive risk profiles for various business units and operational areas. Define data requirements, develop data collection processes, and ensure data integrity for accurate risk profiling. • Data Management Integration: Lead the integration of risk profiling data with existing data management systems, including databases, dashboards, and reporting tools. Ensure seamless data flow and accessibility for real-time risk monitoring and analysis. • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and implement data analysis methodologies to identify risk trends, patterns, and correlations. Generate insightful reports and dashboards to communicate risk profile information to stakeholders and support informed decision-making. • System Development and Enhancement: Design, test, and implement data management and integration systems to support risk profiling activities. Continuously improve system functionality and performance based on user feedback and evolving business needs. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, operations, and IT, to ensure effective data management and system integration. Facilitate communication and coordination among stakeholders to align on data requirements and system functionalities. • Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Implement data validation protocols and quality control measures to maintain data integrity. • Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs on risk profiling methodologies, data management systems, and reporting tools. Provide ongoing support to users and address data-related inquiries. • Strategic Advisory: Stay abreast of emerging data management technologies and risk profiling best practices. Advise senior leadership on potential opportunities to enhance risk profiling capabilities and improve data-driven decision-making. Basic Qualifications - 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship - Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent - Experience in internal audit and risk management or equivalent - Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification - Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent - Master's degree or equivalent - Experience engaging with regulatory agencies in permit applications or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
