The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Otolaryngology is currently seeking a full time Sr. Research Associate 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Senior Research Associate 2 (second level research position, track one) supports research activities under the direction of a principle investigator, program director or designee of the principle investigator or program director.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                     

Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data and maintaining databases.

Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

Participates in the publication of significant results.

Advances expertise through continued education, training, and research.

Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.

Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.

Stays abreast of developments in the field which may impact department functions.

Provides guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior research staff and students.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                    

Master’s Degree in relevant field

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

                                                                                                         

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

Direct and conduct research for projects with specific neurosensory outcomes

Coordinate participant visits in accordance with study protocols

Provide written and verbal updates on study progress

Acquire, store, and analyze data

Oversee other staff members role in research projects

Produce scholarly manuscripts on study progress

Update and file all necessary administrative and regulatory documents

Participate in conceptualization and perpetration of new studies

Department Specific Qualifications                                                                                

Education:

Master’s degree

Certification and Licensing:

Familiarity with regulatory aspects of research

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years working in a lab that does neurosensory research

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Experience and expertise in collecting data using VR goggles, EEG devices, cognitive tests, and vestibular tests

Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks

Ability to collaborate within and outside the research group
