What You’ll Do As a Project Manager, you’ll lead capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring strong alignment with operations, engineering, and EHS teams across the site. Your work will support plant reliability, regulatory compliance, and long-term performance. You will: + Lead engineering-driven capital projects using industry best practices for chemical plant operations + Develop clear, actionable scopes by partnering with production, EHS, maintenance, and external engineering firms + Manage day-to-day project activities: planning, scheduling, design reviews, procurement, and construction oversight + Drive strict adherence to safety requirements across all project phases + Provide regular, insightful updates to Site Leadership using data-driven project metrics + Foster strong communication across cross-functional teams + Build and manage budgets, track progress, and forecast financial needs + Oversee contractors on-site, ensuring documentation, safety compliance, and high-quality execution + Conduct field audits and approve scope changes to maintain schedule and construction readiness + Uphold rigorous standards of safety and compliance with federal and state regulations + Take on additional assignments as directed by the Capital Investment Manager What You BringEssential Skills & Experience + 6+ years of technical or engineering experience + Proven success leading projects through the full lifecycle: scope development, design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning + Strong decision-making abilities, even with limited data + Experience managing contractors and promoting continuous improvement + Strong EHS mindset and comfort working with both contractors and union personnel + Exceptional collaboration and communication skills Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + Familiarity with stage-gate workflows and frameworks (PMI, CII) + Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) + Experience in chemical processing, refining, or oil & gas + SAP experience in project, maintenance, or purchasing modules Work Environment This position is primarily on-site at a large chemical processing facility in Waterford, NY, with more than 90% of time spent in the plant. The environment includes both operational and construction activity and operates within a union setting. A standard 40-hour work week provides a strong work-life balance — ideal for candidates coming from construction or GC environments who want stability without losing hands-on, technical project work. Occasional remote work may be approved. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Waterford, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
