Sr. Product Manager - Tech, DSO USF Product
We are seeking an AI-focused Product Manager - Technical (PM-T) to own the product vision for AI/ML-powered forecasting products within Amazon's Demand Science Optimization (DSO). This role leads three critical product areas: Science Roadmap & Model Improvements (partnering with Applied Scientists to productize ML research including model reconciliation, cross-price elasticity, and next-gen forecasting models), AI-Powered Input Management (building the source of truth for forecasting inputs with AI-driven automation, validation, and high-frequency refresh capabilities), and AI-powered forecast analytics and performance visibility.

You will define how AI agents automate manual forecasting workflows, establish input refresh mechanisms that enable sub-day forecast responsiveness, and build ML-based validation frameworks that ensure data quality at scale. Your work directly enables cash flow improvement through forecast accuracy gains and near real time response time to critical input changes.

The ideal candidate has deep curiosity about ML systems, experience translating science research into production products, and passion for building AI capabilities that deliver measurable business outcomes. You'll partner with PhD Applied Scientists, Data Engineers, and cross-functional teams to transform forecasting from manual processes to AI-powered automation.

Key job responsibilities
AI-Powered Input Management: Own UX and workflows for critical forecasting inputs (pricing, launch dates, product end-of-life, retailer assortment). Build AI-powered recommendations to automate manual entry and reduce setup time.

Input Refresh & Validation: Design end-to-end architecture enabling rapid forecast responsiveness. Build ML-based anomaly detection, real-time change detection, and automated quality gates with upstream data contracts.

AI Analytics & Explainability: Own forecast performance dashboards, AI-powered anomaly detection, and self-service analytics. Define ROI frameworks measuring forecast improvement impact.

Agentic Automation: Design AI agents automating input validation, change detection, and quality monitoring—reducing manual intervention in the forecast cycle.

Science Partnership: Collaborate with Applied Scientists to prioritize ML research initiatives. Define product requirements for model improvements including price elasticity and complementary product modeling. Own backtest methodology, success criteria, and deployment sequencing.

About the team
Demand Science Optimization (DSO) is responsible for demand forecasting, promotion and sales planning, and inventory optimization across Amazon's Device portfolio. We own the science-driven forecasting platform that serves as the single source of truth for demand signals, along with the planning tools that enable Product Lines and Finance to make build, allocation, and promotional decisions.
Our mission: Deliver AI-powered forecasting capabilities that reduce supply chain costs, improve inventory availability, minimize waste, and enable real-time planning across the Device business.
