We are seeking a talented individual to join our Private Equity team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in New York or Norwalk preferred, will consider Boston or Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This person will be part of the North America Private Equity funds team within Mercer’s Alternative Investments Group, reporting to the Head of Private Equity for North America. This team member is responsible for leading and managing primary fund deal teams within our group, proactively generating investment opportunities to identify those which are most capable of generating value for Mercer’s clients and portfolios, and monitoring private equity markets for actionable insights.
We will count on you to:
Proactively source new fund investments opportunities in private equity.
Generate actionable insights into the private equity markets for our investment process and/or use by portfolio and client managers.
Independently lead due diligence on investment management firms and their investment strategies through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Lead and oversee the preparation of due diligence materials including Research Reports, which are comprehensive reports that are presented to the Ratings Review Committee.
Produce other ad-hoc research as requested covering a wide range of topics.
Mentor junior staff.
What you need to have:
MBA, CFA, CAIA or equivalent experience preferred
8 + years of experience in institutional, investment management or consulting, preferably in alternative assets
Strong background in investment analysis, private equity or portfolio management
Demonstrated analytical capabilities, excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to travel to visit with managers and for other events located across the country, as needed

The applicable base salary range for this role is $140,500 to $281,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
