Northrop Grumman is looking for a Sr. Principal Production Operations.  The Sr. Principal Production Operations position will join the Sentinel Program team in Promontory, UT. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing facilities operations, equipment maintenance, and schedule coordination to ensure seamless support for program milestones and commitments. This individual will collaborate across multiple functions, including site management, production, and integration teams, to sustain contractual obligations and infrastructure needs.

 

Job Summary:

Candidate shall possess knowledge on how to perform a variety of duties in facilities management, support equipment maintenance, schedule coordination, and coordination with site management in support of the Sentinel Program for Launch Systems in Promontory, UT.  This role will:

Support plans and schedules for Launch Vehicles activities in Promontory, Utah

Support the requirements, milestones, and organizational infrastructure to sustain and deliver on the contractual obligations

Maintain close coordination with Integration and Test Manager and Production Manager on facility maintenance, requirements, and schedule commitments

Participate in daily escalation and tiered meeting structures

Occasional business travel may be required (< 10%).

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate facility maintenance activities (periodic and emergency) with the Promontory Maintenance team and Sentinel Program Site Management to ensure safe operations within and around the facility.

Oversee support equipment and tooling maintenance and calibration with the Production Manager, collaborating with vendors and the onsite Metrology Lab to meet program schedules.

Manage tooling needs, coordinating between the Production Manager, on-site machine shop, and 3D print shop.

Maintain program vehicles, coordinating performance and maintenance requirements with Supply Chain, Logistics, and the Production Manager.

Support program storage and logistics by planning and coordinating vehicle movements, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and storage needs with suppliers, bunkers, and facilities.

Assist with the design, planning, and construction of Promontory’s new LS buildings by serving as the interface between construction project management, LS Facilities, and site management teams.

Provide support for other Launch Systems facilities and programs in Promontory at similar capacity, as needed.

Identify and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives aligned with program goals and efficiency improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience of managing and supporting production systems

High School diploma and 12 years of experience of managing and supporting production systems

Demonstrated ability to coordinate periodic and emergency facility maintenance activities with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient operations

Proficiency in tracking tooling and equipment performance to maintain alignment with program schedules

Strong ability to communicate and coordinate clearly across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and safety objectives

Proven technical skills in managing and supporting production systems, tools, and vehicles in an advanced manufacturing environment

Active U.S. Government DoD Secret Security Clearance

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

Safety knowledge or awareness around energetic material

Experience in a government-contracted industrial or manufacturing environment

Experience with facility and vehicle maintenance

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
