Summary
Plans, executes and functionally directs important engineering assignments, which require independent judgment. Effectively applies advanced engineering principles with focus on mechanical design, experimental and computational methods to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.

Devises new approaches to complex problems through application and adaptation state-of-the-art techniques in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), with focus on computer aided design, simulation and experimental mechanical engineering tools and methods.Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.Able to clearly present complex concepts and tailor communication to audiences, including senior management. Organizes and presents technical project management overviews without assistance. Oral and written communication is well planned, organized and has a clear logical flowSupervises/coordinates engineers and/or technicians on assigned workGenerates and leverages existing and new intellectual property for new therapy and/or clinical use. Also, authors articles in journals and contribute to scientific literature and conferences.Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative work environment across different cross-functional teams.Creates and communicates project plans, tasks and deliverables and manages time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones.Engages in personal and continued learning to broaden knowledge in mechanical engineering and to gain knowledge in new fields of general engineering and/or therapy areas in order to improve individual effectiveness and to avoid technical obsolescenceJob Requirements
Proven experience in different structural analysis like linear, Non-linear, Sine/Random Vibrations, Drop/Shock/Impact with deep understanding of mechanics of materials.Ability to design and solve complex engineering problems by decomposing them into actionable task lists with minimal assistanceAbility to independently determine courses of action and with minimal assistance and convince others using both written and verbal methodsProvide suggestions to improve the strength of the design with cost effective design solutions.Experience in handling Technical Reviews in Subject Matter Expert Role and provide insights into the various problems from a structural analysis perspective.Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for engineering projects with substantial complexity and scopeDemonstrated understanding and application of methodologies for ‘root cause’ investigations. Independently identifies and applies the correct problem-solving tools.Demonstrated ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and drive implementation, based on technical inputs from multiple and varied functions (i.e. Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.)Preferred
B.E/ ME/ Phd. in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience.Adept knowledge in Abaqus with minimum experience of more than 10 years.Develop and validate FEA models for structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses using Abaqus CAE and Abaqus Standard/Explicit solvers.Strong understanding of solid mechanics, material behavior, and numerical methods.Conduct linear and nonlinear simulations, including contact, material plasticity, creep, and fatigue analysis.Perform static, dynamic (Vibration/ Drop/ Shock/ Impact), and thermal simulations to evaluate product performance.Evaluate and implement advanced material models (e.g., hyper-elastic, viscoelastic, composite materials).Experience in meshing techniques, convergence studies, and result interpretation.Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to correlate FEA results with physical testing.Document analysis reports, methodologies, and recommendations for design improvements.Optimize designs using FEA-driven insights to improve product reliability and efficiency.Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments) and optimization techniques.Stay updated on FEA best practices and emerging simulation techniques.Good working knowledge of using CAD tools like SolidWorks.Working knowledge with electro-mechanical products is preferred. Prior experience in the infusion pump domain is a plus.Develop custom scripts in Python (or Abaqus Scripting Interface) to automate simulations and post-processing.Basic understanding of Tolerance Stack Analysis and GD&T.Knowledge of Quality Management Systems for medical device industry or equivalent.Certified Six Sigma Green/ Black belt with DFSS methodology preferred.Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, IEC, ISO 10993, ASTM F2996 for medical devices).Exposure to machine learning for predictive modeling in FEA is a plus.A Career That Matters
