Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

 

Mercury Systems Processing Tech - Compute business unit seeks a talented senior principal electrical engineer to deliver cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, combining commercial innovation with defense-grade security. In this role, you'll innovate with advanced embedded technology to solve complex systems as part of a collaborative hardware electrical engineering team. As a seasoned individual contributor, you will serve as a key liaison between program management, system engineering, mechanical design, software, and manufacturing, working independently with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

Creatively design, develop, and verify complex circuits, modules, and systems to meet customer and market requirements Develop complex embedded digital hardware products from concept through lab verification to production Take ownership of the full product development lifecycle, ensuring quality and performance standards are met Designing with cutting-edge technology from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI and beyond Interacting with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, ME, FW/SW, purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations Designing using high-speed digital design interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, DDR SDRAM Memory. Other support circuitry to include DC/DC power, Clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UARTs Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports Develop schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent Support of CAD and Signal Integrity (SI) with PCB Rules with Cadence Allegro or equivalent Utilize LAB tools such as Oscilloscopes and DVMs for verification and debug Execute Lab Debug for both HW/SW that range from new development to continued sustaining

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of related experience in electrical engineering product development from concept to production Experience designing complex circuits with microprocessors, FPGAs, or network switches Experience using PCB CAD layout tools; Cadence Allegro preferred Developing detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports Developing schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent Experience in development of proposals, requirements, design specifications and test plans This position may require you to have or obtain a government security clearance in the future.  Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Preferred Qualifications:

Intel CPU architecture (Xeon-D, Cascade Lake, Sapphire Rapids), development, and test including BIOS firmware or other Microprocessor architecture Network interface devices by Mellanox, Broadcom or Marvel Analysis including stress derating, reliability, and FMECA Schematic integrity checking analysis with Mentor Valydate or equivalent Experience designing electronics for rugged environments with industrial/military grade components Requirements traceability (JAMA, DOORS) An active Secret Clearance
