As a Senior Program Manager for Amazon's Global Compensation Programs, you will lead the strategy, design, and implementation of complex compensation initiatives that drive significant impact across Amazon's global operations. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership to transform how we deliver compensation programs while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and operational excellence.
Working cross-functionally with senior leadership, compensation teams, and key business partners worldwide, you will architect scalable solutions that advance Amazon's compensation philosophy and business objectives. Success in this role requires deep expertise in program management, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate highly ambiguous situations while driving results. You will lead data-driven decisions through sophisticated analysis and influential communication, with your contributions having extensive global impact and visibility across multiple organizations.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic vision for global compensation programs and initiatives
- Design and implement innovative solutions for complex compensation challenges
- Lead cross-organizational program execution and change management
- Establish governance frameworks and success metrics for program effectiveness
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders globally
- Drive large-scale process transformation and automation initiatives
- Lead deep analysis of program effectiveness to shape future strategy
- Create and maintain program policies and frameworks, partnering with policy leaders
- Build and scale training and change management programs
- Manage complex, high-stakes compensation activities including strategic planning
- Influence and align key stakeholders across multiple organizations
About the team
The Compensation Programs team supports Amazon's global employee population by defining and delivering compensation strategy, programs, and operational infrastructure. We establish and maintain the frameworks that enable effective compensation delivery across Amazon's business units worldwide.
Our work spans both strategic transformation and operational excellence. This includes reimagining existing compensation programs while identifying opportunities for innovation. We also manage critical operational activities such as system architecture, data governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- 5+ years of program/project management or related field experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience communicating to a diverse, global audience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale, complex programs across multiple organizations
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving organizational change
- Deep expertise in compensation program design and implementation
- Advanced Excel skills (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, SQL, Quick-sight
- Experience developing policies and frameworks for global programs
- MBA or related advanced degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $187,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
