Amazon’s World-Wide Grocery Private Brands NA team is looking for a Packaging Sourcing Manager to join our team. The Packaging Sourcing Manager will engage with internal and external resources to deliver Amazon Grocery Private Brands products customers love. This role is designed to build strategic partnerships that support growth, cost optimization, while delivering sustainability initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and lead contract negotiations with vendors, while collaborating with business stakeholders.
• Deliver front end sourcing & procurement activities that support product development.
• Building strategic supplier partnerships and organizational competencies that deliver results.
• Building cost models and delivering packaging cost savings across an expansive portfolio.
• Driving packaging improvements with the business and across cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to work hand in hand with Packaging Engineers to deliver end to end packaging strategies.
• Working with third party co-packers to identify areas of opportunity for packaging consolidation or introducing innovative packaging solutions.
• Continually find ways to drive cost out of our packaging efforts.
• Identifying new packaging innovations that unlock new areas of opportunity.
• Evaluating vendor prototypes and providing improvements/suggestions or alternative solutions
• Advising senior management on the latest packaging sourcing trends and optimal solutions.
• Building & maintaining accurate and up to date sourcing tools for packaging materials and procedures.
• Providing technical support for root cause analysis of customer complaints related to packaging.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management
- Advanced analytical capabilities to analyze trends, pricing data, supplier performance, and contracts.
- Ability to work hand in hand with Packaging Engineers to deliver end to end packaging strategies.
- Building cost models and delivering packaging cost savings across an expansive portfolio.
- An in-depth knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and suppliers.
- Building & maintaining accurate and up to date sourcing tools for packaging materials and procedures.
- Driving packaging improvements with the business and across cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing and leveraging commercialization roadmap strategy and definition.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing specific to packaging.
- Knowledge of packaging buying strategies, optimize profitability leveraging packaging sourcing activities and/or packaging concepts
- Understanding of packaging sourcing practices and standards, and experience meeting production supply chain, product fulfillment, transportation and agency requirements.
- Masters in packaging engineering, business, finance, or similar.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
