Be Valued at the American Heart Association by following us on LinkedIn, Instagram, Fac ebook , X, and at heart.jobs. **Responsibilities** + Responsible for leading operations for a portfolio of data science research grants, including tracking, management, communication, and working with staff in the Office of Science Operations. Leverage AI across different programs and expertly navigate programs, including Excel and Smartsheet, to maximize operational efficiency for this specific responsibility and others (below. + Responsible for establishing and leading operations for a new surveillance program, including communicating with external stakeholders, internal staff, contractors, and expert volunteer committees. + Coordinate with lead staff statisticians and epidemiologists to provide operational and communication plans between external healthcare volunteers and leaders with other departments within the organization. Recommend approaches and suggestions for final decisions and moving forward. + Responsible for handling operations, such as accounting, expense reporting, and procurement; and building relationships with legal, external vendors, and partners to ensure that the overall business goals are achieved. Develops reports, trackers, or assessment tools to ensure compliance, as needed. + Develop, prepare, and distribute monthly reports on variances to project requirements for leadership. Analyze financial activities from purchasing, contract terms and vendor invoices against budget. Provide reconciliation, mentorship, and recommendations. + Handle departmental contracting processes, including site and sponsor contracts. + Work with the American Heart Association legal department to establish and negotiate contract terms for hospitals, practices, sponsors, etc. Monitor and track process of associated statuses and documents. + Utilize vendor and/or American Heart Association systems (e.g., E1, Optimus, iEnvision, etc.) efficiently and competently to process invoices, contracts, requisitions, and expenses. + Handle staff who support operational activities. **Want to help get your resume to the top? Take a look at the experience we require:** **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, Master’s Degree preferred. + Minimum of 5 years of meaningful work experience, including research grants and grant management in the healthcare space, legal, contracts, and budget. + Excels in oral and written communications. Ability to communicate with all levels of American Heart Association staff and outside experts. Ability to communicate to technology and non-technology staff. + Demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and reprioritize ongoing work. + Comprehensive experience with researchers, operational planning, and management, applying the principles and practices of accounting, financial analysis, and general business administration. + Extensive knowledge of budgeting, financial and reporting processes for service agreements and/or grants. + Proficient in budget projection and planning, variance analysis, and reconciliation requirements. Ability to analyze financial data and interpret into narrative form. **Preferred Work Experience** + 7 plus years of meaningful work experience, including research grants and grant management in the healthcare space, legal, contracts, and budget. + Three years of experience with developing and managing process (and process change) documentation. + Three years of experience working in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. Excellent in working against deadlines to provide end product. **Compensation & Benefits** The expected pay range will be $105,000 - $125,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
