The American Heart Association Ventures’ Senior Operations Manager, Platform & Ecosystem is a strategic operations leader and systems-thinker within the Association’s Ventures department.
**This position can be home-based within the U.S.**

**Responsibilities**
Reporting to the Head of Platform & Ecosystem, this role will drive operational excellence and platform innovation, support portfolio company integration, and coordinate ecosystem engagement by leveraging the Association’s intellectual and social capital to optimize the Association's Venture’s resources and investments.
The responsibilities include managing the systems, networks, and operations for portfolio value-creation activities and organizational development.
+ **Portfolio Onboarding & Closeouts:**
+ Collaborate and coordinate with Investment Principals, Marketing, Communications, and operations teams to support a robust onboarding experience for portfolio companies into the Ventures’ portfolio and the first 100 Days experience.
+ Support and coordinate value-creation plans, in collaboration with investment principals, for leveraging the Association’s assets and resources to support portfolio companies’ growth.
+ Collaborate with investment teams to develop and manage workflows for the closeout of grantees and portfolio companies.
+ **Platform Excellence & System Innovation:**
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to develop processes and systems (i.e. Pitchbook, CARTA, and Affinity) to enhance team operations, knowledge management, and the system’s scalability
+ Serve as partner for managing existing and prospective donor information requests: portfolio company’s expansions and follow-on investments
+ Coordinate the development of visualizations and reports for investment teams and internal stakeholders: portfolio introductions, investor outreach, network health, etc.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders on internal audit action plans, recommendations, deliverables, and workstreams to ensure compliance with the Association's guidelines and processes
+ Lead the adoption and implementation of best practices for data platforms by developing SOPs, championing roadmap implementation, and updating information within systems
+ Support the development and refinement of innovative playbooks that incorporate how portfolio companies can leverage Association resources and assets to support their growth and impact
+ Support Investment Principal’s Quarterly and Annually meetings with portfolio companies by developing briefs, progress updates, and synergistic opportunities
+ Conduct Market Maps and Investor Landscape analysis to support investment teams and internal stakeholder’s
+ Curate monthly resource roundups (funding opportunities, events, policy changes, etc.) for portfolio companies and investment teams
+ Build internal AI-enabled workflows to support research, portfolio operations, meeting preparation, data aggregation, and sourcing
+ Own CRM Data Hygiene, list structures, governance, and reporting
+ **Network/Ecosystem Management:**
+ Coordinate the development and management of innovation advisory and mentor network to support portfolio companies and the Investment Teams; facilitate mentor-founder connections; due diligence support; go-to-market preparation, etc.
+ Engage and mobilize the Association’s ecosystem to enhance value-add activities and portfolio company needs.
+ Conduct quarterly Ecosystem Mapping activities to ensure data quality within CRM and to strengthen internal reporting.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to support the coordination and management of immersive experiences (i.e. workshops, webinars, CEO Summits, Roundtables, Demo Days) to accelerate portfolio development.
+ **Portfolio Development:**
+ Develop and manage portfolio companies’ community of practice by curating learning experiences, disseminating relevant information, and highlighting portfolio shared opportunities. Organizes monthly and quarterly shared learning experiences.
+ Serve as a liaison for portfolio requests, including go-to-market support, amplification, advisory/mentorship, and access to the Association’s assets and resources.
+ Develop project and workplan with milestones, timelines, and deliverables for strategic integrations and value-creation engagements.
+ Support the development and execution of investor-readiness and commercial preparedness programming for portfolio companies.
+ Develop reports and tools leveraging Pitchbook Data that highlight investment trends, potential portfolio follow-on targets, and fund benchmarks.
+ Understand and work within the complex structures of the Association to ensure the programs are optimally implemented and compliant with organizational requirements
+ Serves as a model for a high-performance culture by fostering innovation, personal accountability, and dedication to results.
+ Supports efforts to achieve the Association's mission and financial goals and objectives.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum experience of five (5) years.
+ Should possess a working knowledge of venture development/startup engagement/platform management in the health innovation ecosystem.
+ Should possess a working technical knowledge and data management skills or possess the ability to manage and operate various data systems (i.e. Affinity, CARTA, Tableau, and Pitchbook.
+ Should possess a fundamental understanding of the impact investing, venture capital, and or philanthropy landscape.
+ Should possess at least five(5) years of supporting and developing startup communities and exchanges.
+ Highly organized leader with excellent interpersonal skills, project management skills, data analytics, and writing skills.
+ Excellent communication skills: must have the ability and savvy to successfully engage with high-level leaders, stakeholders, and media.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% experience, depending on business demand.
