The Westrock Corporation Longview mill is a major producer of kraft paper packaging and is one of the highest-capacity and most diverse paper mills in North America. The Longview mill manufactures more than 70 grades of kraft paper and containerboard and supplies a broad range of corrugated packaging.  The Longview mill is strategically located close to several Ports and with ready access to Interstate 5, rail and export container facilities. 

 

Summary:

The Fiberline Manager will have oversight of up to ten direct salary reports and up to 100 hourly personnel.  This individual will be responsible for Pulp Mill operations including, but not limited to safety and environmental compliance, production, quality and maintenance for the fiberline area.   This includes wood chip unloading, screening and storage, Kamyrs (2), Sunds NSSC digester (1) and shared responsibility for the evaporators (3) and kilns (3) in our fully integrated pulp mill, using discretion and decision making skills to meet company and department goals. 

 

Job Duties:

Adherence and support of the company’s safety culture.  Be a leader in safety for the area, consistent with the goals and safety cultureResponsibility and oversight of short and long-term performance requirements within areasCoordinate with cross-functional teams and participate as necessary to troubleshoot and solve operating issues Oversee department maintenance planning activities to efficiently complete work needed to meet department safety, production and environmental goalsOversee planning and execution of area outages and oversee the completion of work  Responsible for maintenance budget within areaCoordinate with and cover for the Power and Recovery ManagerCoordinate and communicate closely with Pulp Mill business Area Superintendents to balance workloadsAssist the Area Superintendents in the review, justification and validation of capital project workWork with Optimization department to meet goals for cost, quality, energy use and other key parametersProvide support and implement continuous improvement in operator trainingAnalyze cost reports, electronic data and other company resources as neededSupport department supervisors by developing and participating in group and team meetingsDevelop plans for long term goals such as shutdown, budgets, and other necessary business initiativesDevelop goals for area to support long-term company success

 

Qualifications:

At least 5-10 years of mill production management experience required.  Ideal candidate would have demonstrated strong leadership experience in the pulp and paper industry in various areas and at various mills.Strong analytical, trouble shooting and decision-making skills A team player with a positive attitude that will continuously: Strive to build strong and effective cross-functional teamsPursue strategies to ensure safety and quality and build rapport with the operating crewsTeach, coach, mentor and promote the success of a dynamic, goal oriented and fast paced environmentStrong organizational skills; the ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints

The salary range for this position is $159,000.00 - $265,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado.
