Position Summary:
Based in Elkhart, Indiana, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing our product lines. This individual will be deeply involved in manufacturing support, new product development, product improvements, vendor coordination, field service, and CAD/design management. As a key technical leader, the Senior Engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, service, and supply chain teams to enhance operational efficiency and product performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support design modifications and continuous improvement of existing and new systems. Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for mechanical systems and production floor issues. Identify and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Manage CAD design revisions and documentation; maintain accuracy of engineering drawings. Support new product launches including submittals, certifications, and customer technical documentation. Interface directly with key suppliers to resolve technical and quality-related issues. Respond to field service and customer support requests, including occasional on-site troubleshooting and repair visits. Improve shop floor work instructions and ensure accurate technical communication. Ensure compliance with UL 2200 certification standards; lead quarterly inspections and certification of new products.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks required) with the ability to generate and revise design files, drawings, and manufacturing instructions. Demonstrated ability to support manufacturing operations and troubleshoot mechanical systems. Knowledge of UL 2200 standards and compliance testing is preferred. Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with SAGE 100 ERP is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation support or field issue resolution.Personal Attributes:
