Sr. Manager, Payments Strategy & Operations

**Position Purpose:**
The **Sr. Manager of Payments Strategy and Operations** is responsible for helping set and execute THD's payments acceptance strategy and managing THD's cost of payment acceptance for the US, HD.com, Canada, and Mexico, including all THD affiliates. This entails identifying new payment functions/innovations, technological enhancements, and process improvements that drive sales and improve the customer experience at the lowest cost. The Sr. Manager will work closely with the Director to create and drive execution of THD Payments Strategy while supporting key payments operation functions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Payments Strategy Formulation & Execution - 65%**
+ Stay abreast of the latest payment and card service trends within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology space
+ Design and conduct specialized research and analysis to evaluate payment market landscapes, competitors, and current payment strategies
+ Support research, planning and implementation of payments strategy
+ Lead special projects and strategic high-value initiatives
**Payment Operations - 20%**
+ Manage team that focuses on bankcard, checks, international, and payment processor operations
+ Supports customer payment experience initiatives and drives cross-functional collaboration between Payments, IT/Product, Finance, and third-party vendors to implement solutions.
+ Supports vendor relationships (card brands, PIN debit networks, payment processors, and consultants); responsible for monitoring contractual performance, including SLAs, volume commitments, etc. as well as assisting with contract negotiations.
**Team Support - 15%**
+ Lead and mentor a team of payment professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in a strategic planning and execution role
+ Ability to research, plan and implement strategic initiatives in partnership with executive leadership
+ Experience in corporate strategy or strategy consulting
+ Strong organizational skills to manage projects end-to-end
+ Experience with project management tools and managing operations
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Clear and concise communicator
+ Builds trust with business partners through proven results
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proactive, collaborative, and professional
+ Collaborates effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders at various levels
+ Escalates when appropriate for support from leadership
