Description As a Senior Manager of Applied Science within StoreGen, you will be a key technical leader driving Amazon's transformation to AI-native software development. In this pivotal role, you'll lead a dedicated cross-functional R&D team, balancing exploratory research with practical implementation to help achieve our goal of making teams more efficient through AI-native development practices. Your responsibilities will span the entire spectrum of AI-native development. You'll spearhead the scientific strategy and execution for StoreGen's AI initiatives, identifying high-impact opportunities where applied science can accelerate our transition. This will involve driving research and innovation in critical areas such as specification-centric development, automated validation, and AI-driven testing. A significant part of your role will be developing frameworks and methodologies to measure and validate the effectiveness of AI-native approaches, ensuring we can demonstrate concrete efficiency gains. You'll build and mentor a team of scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation while maintaining Amazon's high standards for reliability and customer experience. Collaboration will be key to your success. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to translate research innovations into practical tools that can scale across Amazon Stores. Additionally, you'll work with AWS, Amazon Software Builder Experience, and other Amazon AI teams to leverage and influence the development of foundation models and AI infrastructure. The base pay for this position ranges from $196,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $340,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
