Sr. Investment Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated Sr. Investment Accountant to manage critical operational functions related to investment portfolios. This role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate valuations, seamless transaction processing, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the success of the organization. Responsibilities: • Calculate and validate investment valuations for the Long Term and Short Term Pools with minimal supervision. • Oversee cash flow planning and processing for investment transactions and shareholder distributions. • Provide audit support for investment-related activities and assist in preparing financial statements, regulatory filings, and tax reports. • Manage assigned operational processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. • Maintain a thorough understanding of operational timelines and responsibilities, adapting to shifting priorities when necessary. • Conduct detailed analysis of fund reporting, interpreting manager terms and valuation policies to perform due diligence. • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflows and mitigate risks. • Monitor changes proposed by investment managers, analyzing their impact on operational processes. • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute strategic projects. • Support the investment team with operational data and provide ad hoc reporting or assistance with special projects. Requirements • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, along with an advanced degree or certification. • Strong background in institutional investment operations or related fields such as audit, tax, fund accounting, or treasury operations. • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with precision, efficiency, and independence. • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities and technologies. • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills. • Proficiency in written and verbal communication. • Familiarity with fund administration, investment accounts, portfolio management, equity investments, and month-end close processes. *Degree in Finance or Accounting. Advanced Degree or certification such as CPA or CFA preferred.
