Sr. Internal Auditor
Description Sr Internal Audit opening - Richmond VA We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to lead and execute audit engagements across our domestic and international subsidiaries. This role ensures adherence to internal control standards, evaluates operational effectiveness, and supports continuous improvement across the organization. Key Responsibilities + Lead the planning and execution of integrated, risk‑based audits, including financial, operational, compliance, and IT audit components. + Supervise and mentor staff auditors during audits and special assignments. + Perform system walkthroughs, assess control design and operating effectiveness, and conduct substantive and analytical testing. + Prepare clear, accurate audit documentation within the automated workpaper system. + Identify root causes of audit issues and develop actionable recommendations; present findings to key stakeholders. + Conduct interviews with management at all organizational levels. + Utilize data analytics tools to evaluate financial and operational datasets for trends and anomalies. + Provide direct support to external auditors as needed. + Execute special projects and ad hoc reviews as assigned. + Maintain strict confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the role. Requirements Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. + At least three years of progressive experience in auditing and/or accounting. + Professional certification (or active pursuit of one): CPA, CIA, or CISA. Preferred Qualifications + Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment. + Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. + Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a strong team culture. + Experience in IT auditing, compliance, corporate governance, or SOX. + Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time‑management capabilities. + Understanding of GAAP and COSO Internal Control – Integrated Framework. + Multilingual skills are a plus. + Data analytics experience Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
