Description The Workplace Health and Safety Global Mobility (WGM) team ensures associate safety through prevention-focused design in Amazon's new buildings. We specialize in three critical operational areas: Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operations, Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) systems, and Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV) integration. This role directly impacts associate safety by implementing safety standards at the design phase, reducing operational risks through preventive measures, maintaining operational efficiency while prioritizing safety, and creating standardized safety protocols across global operations. You will collaborate with design engineering teams to develop and implement safety standards that protect associates while optimizing building efficiency. Your work ensures that new Amazon facilities incorporate safety considerations from the ground up, rather than retrofitting solutions later. The role focuses on prevention through design initiatives, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, global safety standard development, cross-functional team collaboration, and operational efficiency optimization. Key job responsibilities You will lead prevention-through-design initiatives for mobile equipment safety across worldwide operations. This includes: • Analyze business requirements, throughput calculations, and simulation results to validate design safety • Partner with WGM teams and powered industrial vehicle technology team in Operations Engineering to mitigate PIT, MEWP, and AGV related risks in new building designs • Ensure building layouts meet safety standards for PIT, MEWP, and AGV operations • Define and implement best practices with global Mobility subject matter experts • Create solutions that address operational safety risks while maintaining building efficiency • Document design gaps and provide actionable solutions • Update policies based on regulatory changes and internal safety performance metrics • Involves travel 30-50% of the time A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market.
