Sr. Formulation Technician
Job Title: Sr. Formulation Technician Job Description The Sr. Formulation Technician will play a crucial role in biotech applications by formulating buffers and reagents ranging from 100 µL to 2,000 L scale in a clean manufacturing environment. The position involves isolating and diluting nucleic acids, performing quality control testing, and actively participating in process improvement projects. Responsibilities + Formulate buffers and other reagents for biotech applications at various scales. + Lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds with appropriate PPE. + Isolate and dilute nucleic acids using pipetting and spectrophotometric techniques. + Conduct quality control testing on buffers and nucleic acids using various techniques. + Troubleshoot and record manufacturing and quality control activities. + Revise and edit manufacturing protocols; contribute to protocol development for new products. + Participate in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) projects, including kaizens. + Manage manufacturing metrics aimed at process control and productivity savings. + Prioritize and schedule work to ensure on-time delivery. + Accurately manage inventory. + Collaborate with peers from various groups. + Train co-workers in instrumentation, manufacturing processes, and software. + Adhere to ISO guidelines and USDA regulations. + Maintain a positive demeanor to contribute to a healthy work environment. + Work with chemicals safely and effectively. Essential Skills + Experience with PCR techniques, including running plates/gels and operating machines. + Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques, such as titrations. + Ability to formulate at large scales. + 1-3 years of work experience in a lab environment. + Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related Science field. Work Environment The position is fully onsite, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and potential for overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $26.50/hr.
