The Senior Facilities Technician (Electrician) is responsible for maintaining equipment, electrical systems, and the building at the Fujifilm Biotechnologies manufacturing facility. This role ensures all equipment and facilities operate at peak performance, taking the lead in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing lighting and electrical systems. The technician must also be willing to perform general maintenance tasks across the manufacturing site.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repair of critical manufacturing equipment, cleanrooms facilities and Quality Control Labs equipment.Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers, and recording devices, including power distribution, lighting, controls, single phase and three phase AC circuits, and VFDs, ensuring safe, reliable operation across manufacturing, cleanrooms, QC labs, and building facilities.Model, implement, and enforce electrical safety practices (LOTO, PPE) and compliance with NEC, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements; define and follow SOPs for electrical work.Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O and panel drawings, nameplates, and P&IDs; use meters, tracers, and recording devices to diagnose electrical issues.Review and analyze system/electrical performance data; recommend maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, and improvements.Develop and maintain inventories of electrical materials and critical electrical spare parts.Coordinate, escort, and supervise third party contractors/vendors; ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and general building components (doors, furniture, conference rooms) as needed.Execute scheduled PMs and Work Orders; document all activities in CMMS and review/approve maintenance reports, forms, and records.Ensure overall compliance with FDA, EPA, Fire Department, City Codes, Health Department, and other regulations.Support investigations, new projects, and validation activities for equipment and facilities.Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualification/requirements:

Minimum High School diploma or GED, or comparable vocational training in engineering or utility systems. College degree or technical trade school certification is preferred.Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.Journeyman or master electrician license.Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program.Broad knowledge of GMP principles, concepts, practices and standards in the US and internationally.Knowledge of industry safety proceduresStrong understanding of local codes and ordinanceProficient with MS Office and CMMS software (Blue Mountain experience is preferred)Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call.

 

Physical Demand:

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, use of ladders, scaffolding, and/or a scissor lift while performing job duties or other physical efforts that are normally required.  Work is generally performed in an office, manufacturing plant or facilities.

Salary and Benefits:
