Sr. Data Engineer
Job Description The Sr. Data Engineer is responsible for designing and managing the organization's data architecture to ensure data is structured, integrated, and accessible for business intelligence, analytics, and operational needs. This role involves developing data models, defining data standards, and implementing data solutions that align with enterprise goals. Maintain and support company data stores, primarily Snowflake on Azure, SQL, and integrations with SAP S/4 HANA. This role gives a wide range of opportunities and experience in database design, implementation, and support. This person is key in making sure our data systems are built well, secure, and highly available • Design and implement enterprise data architecture strategies and frameworks. • Design and optimize data models and databases for performance and scalability. • Align data solutions with business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. • Maintain documentation on all systems, models, and data flows in your area of responsibility as directed. • Develop and execute complex SQL queries. • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data management, Power BI, and SQL reporting. • Ensure stable database application performance. • Install, configure, and support database platforms. • Coordinate SAP HANA change activities with stakeholders. • Define and maintain database backup, retention and archival strategies. • Enable Dev/DataOps’ data system needs. • Monitor and tune data system performance. • Deploy database change scripts; ensure new code meets standards. • Lead database workstreams across IT projects. • Collaborate closely with client technical/business stakeholders. • Monitor for and Escalate sensitive/security issues and suspected major problems promptly. • Participate in 24/7 on-call coverage for critical database needs. • Other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements • Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing. • Experience with Azure cloud data platform, others desirable. • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security. • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages. • SAP HANA structure & tools, and experience working with SAP support models • Experience with Snowflake data warehousing (Others desirable) • Knowledge of data pipeline tools. • Data visualization and analytical skills. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300). • MCDBA/legacy SQL or current Microsoft SQL Server certifications. • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305). • Microsoft Power BI. • MongoDB Database Administrator Associate/Professional. • SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA (peripheral exposure acceptable)
