Sr. Cloud Collaboration and Automation Engineer

What We're Looking For:
Michael Baker International is seeking a M365 Collaboration Engineer. This position architects’ designs, implements, secures, protects, and manages the Microsoft 365 environment, focusing on services like Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange to enhance organizational productivity and adoption involving automation (PowerShell/Power Platform), governance, and cross-functional collaboration with IT, business units and business affiliates. They will set and advocate for enterprise wide best practice adoptions, manage complex M&A integrations and design security improvements while staying current with M365 technologies. The intent is to drive digital transformation, as well as instrument cost optimization and develop best practices.

What You'll Do:

Design & Implementation: Architect and deploy M365 solutions (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive), integrating them with other enterprise systems in the enterprise.  Automation: Design and develop PowerShell scripts and use Power Automate for routine tasks, administration and workflow optimization at the groups and enterprise level.  Security & Governance: Design and implement best practice approaches to Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, data loss prevention (DLP), and security policies within the Microsoft ecosystem using both Microsoft technologies and 3rd parties.  Administration: Set standards and key-performance-indicators, as well as measurement methods to help staff deliver day-to-day management of services within the Enterprise architecture.  Collaboration: Design and lead sessions with enterprise stakeholders, security teams, and developers to understand business requirements and deliver solutions that improve productivity.  Documentation & Training: Create technical documentation, SOPs, deliver training to users and support staff and help lead collaboration best practices and Center of Excellence. Collaboration: Demonstrate and lead practices that help adopt and improve effective inter-company and intra-company collaboration as well as experience managing external guests.  Modernization: Design technology solutions and plans to facilitate staff transitioning legacy systems from current-generation technologies to industry recommended solutions and best-practice usages.  Migration: Design, administer and execute O365 integration activities as a result of Merger and Acquisitions.  Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new M365 features and roadmaps for continuous improvement.  Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost effective solutions to license, secure, manage staff, applications and data within the enterprise thru resilient and cost-effective system architecture.  Data Protection: Evaluate, design and implement data protection solutions to insure enterprise recovery from small and large events is fully functional.  Partnering with development leaders: This role will propose, evaluate, design and implement cloud environments, aligning with business needs  Knowledge and experience: Very deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Microsoft and industry best practices for enterprise organizations.  Instincts and fundamentals: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills as well as ability to evaluate existing and new systems to identify vulnerabilities that could jeopardize security.  Autonomy: Ability to work independently and in cross-functional and inter-company teams

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).  Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700 Teams Administrator, MS-203 Messaging Administrator, MS-900 Fundamentals) preferred. 7+ years in IT infrastructure or collaboration engineering roles.  7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online,  O365 Administration, Entra Admin).  Over 2 years of experience managing an Office 365 integration as part of Merger and Acquisition  activities, ensuring the complete migration of one company into the Microsoft ecosystem of another. Very strong background in PowerShell scripting and automation.  Deep understanding designing and implementing security and compliance security and compliance  controls in the enterprise across cloud environments  Strong experience with networking in on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments. Proven experience designing and delivering best practice methodologies for use of the Microsoft  ecosystem within a larger enterprise organization, preferably via leading a CoE community.  Proven experience leading projects to enhance productivity and business practices.

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
