Sr. Claims Specialist - Premises Liability

Position Purpose:

This position provides professional claims adjusting services for highly complex bodily injury, property damage and auto claims while ensuring all claims are handled in compliance with industry best practices, fair claims practice standards, and company expectations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

40% - Claim Investigation and Analysis - Investigate potential claim exposure to include gathering relevant documents, obtaining statements as necessary and any other information deemed necessary to determine liability.  Reviewing and analyzing medical records and medical bills to determine customer injuries and related treatment. Evaluating claims for third party involvement.  Reporting claims to excess carriers where appropriate.40% - Claim Management and Resolution - Responsible for 150 complex specialty bodily injury, property damage and auto claims based on assignment and jurisdiction.  Represent the company when engaging with customers, counsel and third parties to process claims and negotiate settlements within designated authority.  This role may include attending mediations where appropriate.  20% - Stakeholder Communication - Routinely communicate claim activity and actively participate in regularly scheduled unit meetings and department meetings. Work toward and achieve team objectives. Develop and recommend solutions for claims above designated authority.

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
 

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
 

Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or olderMust be legally permitted to work in the United StatesAdjusters license appliable to jurisdiction and line of business

Bodily injury claims experience in multiple statesLitigation experienceRisk Management and Insurance degree preferredProperty Causality license
