Sr. BIM Specialist
Job Title: VDC (BIM) Specialist Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced VDC (BIM) Specialist who will translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems into detailed Building Information Models (BIM) for fabrication and installation. The ideal candidate will lead a team at the project level, overseeing productivity, time management, group standards, and quality. Responsibilities + Lead and support a team of VDC Specialists to ensure project deadlines are met. + Manage construction documents and communicate effectively with the internal project team. + Ensure the BIM team has access to current project-related information such as submittals, specifications, and vendor-specific models. + Collaborate with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems. + Coordinate with the General Contractor and subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination of all trades. + Attend weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to ensure trade coordination. + Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) to the design team as required. + Create detailed shop drawings for fabrication and installation purposes, including annotations for shop, hanger, and sleeve drawings. + Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for the robotic total station layout team. + Communicate with field personnel to ensure clear communication of fabrication and installation intent. + Mentor and train VDC team members on modeling software and the creation of fabrication and installation drawings. + Work collaboratively with team members to complete drawings and models to meet project schedules. + Maintain training and continued education to improve team accuracy and productivity. + Provide input to management regarding hardware and software requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 5 or more years of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systems. + Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. + Experience in BIM coordination and detailing is preferred. + Professional demeanor and ethical behavior. Work Environment The position is based out of Raleigh, NC, offering significant work-from-home options, with 3-4 days at home and 1-2 days onsite or at the office in Raleigh. The role is primarily remote, but requires local project involvement in NC, ensuring a balance of remote and onsite work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
