Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to join our client's finance team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting manufacturing operations, and identifying opportunities to enhance accounting processes. If not, for immediate consideration, please apply or call Warren Knight at 484-214-2624 Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, cost of goods sold, and fixed assets, to maintain accuracy. • Collaborate with plant and operations leadership to assess manufacturing costs, variances, and margins. • Execute month-end closing activities, including posting journal entries, managing accruals, and performing account reconciliations. • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including cycle counts and physical inventory checks. • Assist with audits, tax filings, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements. • Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls. • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced accounting staff, supporting their growth and development. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment. • Proficiency in cost accounting and inventory management within a manufacturing setting. • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls. • Strong skills in financial systems and advanced proficiency in Excel. • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from financial data. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
