Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a reputable healthcare nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to corporate accounting and financial operations while working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work remotely several days a week. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. • Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with accounting principles. • Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies. • Complete bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking. • Collaborate with team members on financial analysis specific to the healthcare sector. • Assist in maintaining compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and practices. • Provide insights into financial data to support organizational decision-making. • Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level capacity. • Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations. • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash flow management. • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards is advantageous but not required. • Experience in healthcare analytics or financial operations is a plus. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
