Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a dynamic nonprofit advisory organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely while providing critical financial expertise to multiple clients daily. The ideal candidate will possess strong nonprofit fund accounting skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a personable demeanor to build and maintain client relationships. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold precise financial records. • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Perform account reconciliations to verify financial accuracy and completeness. • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with organizational records. • Collaborate with public schools and nonprofit clients to address accounting needs and provide advisory support. • Communicate effectively with clients to build strong relationships based on attention to detail. • Handle multiple client accounts with exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support client decision-making. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on nonprofit fund accounting. • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance. • Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. • Experience working with public schools or nonprofit organizations is highly desirable. • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple clients and priorities. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients. • Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining high-quality standards. • Familiarity with relevant accounting software and tools.
