A Day in the Life:
The Sr Trust and Safety Data Analyst will join a team within Trust and Safety for North America (NA) based Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty locations as well as global activity for hertz.com, reporting directly into the Mgr, Trust and Safety Strategy. This role will be responsible for owning the theft and fraud risk data, including the development and maintenance of data tables, queries, analytics, and reporting that drive our data-informed risk decisions. This role will act as a risk focused data partner to the Trust and Safety team and internal stakeholders, including data science, technology, recovery, corporate security, cyber, sales, product, legal, finance, field operations, and customer experience. The key to success in this role is the ability to translate business problems into data analytics that business stakeholders can easily understand and action.
Starting salary is $75k; commensurate with experience.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and effective data tables/views/sources, queries, automated jobs, dashboards, reports, analysis summaries, and all data-related projects for the Trust and Safety team. Utilize SQL, Databricks, Tableau, Python, AWS, Jira, Microsoft Office Suite. Collaborate with members of the Trust and Safety team and broader Recovery team plus other internal business stakeholders as needed. Proactively analyze our data and identify opportunities to further reduce our risk exposure to fraud, theft, and other revenue leakage. Take generic hypotheses and leverage complex data to isolate specific problematic behavior or issues, creating digestible analysis and clear visuals for non-technical business users to action.What We’re Looking For:
2+ years’ work experience in fraud, risk, or loss prevention data analytics, or similar business analytics, operations research, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business analytics, statistics, engineering, or other related discipline, strongly preferred. Experience in travel, tourism, or hospitality industry preferred, but not required. Strong technical skills required, including advanced SQL, Tableau, and Excel, with Databricks experience preferred. Experience using one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, etc.). Demonstrated ability to query and derive meaning from large data sets in relational databases and flat files. Strong problem-solving/analytical skills with natural intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, and drive to find meaning in complex data. Flexible, adaptable, and accountable; ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects through to solution delivery and consistently meet or exceed deadlines. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and locations. Experience translating business challenges into actionable data insights. Ability to stay focused and keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment working under minimal supervision with a goal-oriented mindset. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
