Title:

Sr Technical Professional - Structural

Our KBR Structures team is growing in Perth, and we’re looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to help deliver high‑quality infrastructure projects while supporting a collaborative and professional team environment and provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

As part of your role, you will support Perth-based projects while also contributing to other locations nationally as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages junior engineers and drafters, leading small teams towards an agreed outcome and implementing corrective action where team is deviating from plan.

Undertakes calculations for design and analysis to Australian Standards.

Prepares tender documents, including work breakdown structures, scopes, exclusions / inclusions and estimate design and documentation effort.

Liaison with asset owners, operators, contractors, and other consultants.

Attends meetings including briefings and disseminates information amongst team where required.

Progresses design documentation, using experience to mark up and sketch design intent into project drawings.

Reviews other engineer’s designs or drafter’s documentation and provide constructive feedback to further develop quality of deliverables.

Undertakes site inspections as required

Mentors junior engineers and develops team spirit.

Skills & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Chartered Professional Engineer or intent to obtain Chartership within the next 6 months strongly preferred.

Is proficient with most typical Australian Standards and industry guidelines for bridges, buildings and infrastructure working in accordance with relevant codes, standards and legal requirements.

MRWA Level 2 Bridge Inspector qualification strongly preferred

Uses structural analysis computer software to assist with general structural designs. Expected proficiency in Spacegass and Microsoft suite of programmes.

Proven record of delivering project efficiencies through software implementation

Previous experience in consulting environment.

Ability to build on existing professional ties with local industry partners

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Essential.
