Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Devops Engineer in Intelligence Exchange Operations team. This team is responsible for the implementation, and support of the IX platform and other application which uses the platform. You will be responsible for migrating the application to cloud (AWS/GCP) involving automation of multiple deployments using Terraform/Cloudformation for IAC. You'll participate in the implementation of new infrastructure (distributed, scalable, and robust) and develop features to make it observable and configurable on-demand. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Customer teams, Cloud Architects, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
An individual with a deep passion for innovation and performance, to work in the DevOps/SRE teamEvaluate cloud services and architecture to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsLead the design, development, and evolution of cloud infrastructureServe as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, performing design reviews to ensure design best practicesWork with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management, and release managementImplement automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD)Implement effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-codeImplement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration managementResponsible for setting up and creating GCP deployments, administration, Operations, and maintenanceEstablish or follow prioritization processes to drive work with a sense of urgency about getting work completedConsult with stakeholders to specify requirements and solutions which address business challenges and opportunitiesMaintain business continuity and disaster recovery processesHave on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering teamShould be able to drive root cause analysis for production issues and continually evaluate and improve our processes and application standardsPreferred Skills:
Hands-on expertise in Cloud platform, managing cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform - GCP) & (Amazon Web Services - AWS)Experience with templating frameworks like Terraform, CloudFormationUnderstanding of DNS/Firewalls/Load balancing and network designKnowledge of AWS Infrastructure as a Service Automation tools like Cloud FormationAbility to understand AWS compute, Route53, VPC, RDS, Load balancingStrong experience with Red Hat Linux; must feel comfortable with scripting in bash, pythonExperience in DevOps support for applications using Java, Oracle, Apache, Tomcat, LinuxExperience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Ansible, Jenkins, GitExperience with complex, high-availability systems, and Capacity Planning and Change ManagementAbility to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, strong organizational skillsExperience with middleware messaging technology such as IBM MQ desiredGood written and oral communication skillsPreferred Experience:
