**About the Role** As an engineer in the Ads Bidding and Pacing team, you will focus on developing & optimizing Auto Bidding and Budget Pacing systems to support Ads Delivery goals for multiple lines of businesses : Uber Eats, Grocery and Mobility Ads. **---- What the Candidate Will Do ----** 1. Design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance bidding and pacing systems. 2. Ensure these systems meet or exceed campaign performance goals, advertiser expectations, and system reliability standards. 3. Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other engineering teams to deliver: 4. A bid-based budget pacing system that ensures daily/weekly budget delivery. 5. Maximize Conversions, which leverages real-time bidding to meet key advertiser goals. **---- Basic Qualifications ----** 1. Technical strength with experience developing and shipping code for production systems 2. Demonstrated examples of delivering production-level features from inception, and promoting a high-quality culture amongst the team 3. Strong system design skills. You know how to build highly-scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services that support our unique exponential growth requirements. 4. Demonstrated experience easily speaking to the operational aspects of monitoring, alerting, and structuring code for production-level debugging. 5. You have a strong command of a backend stack (eg. Golang, Java, Node.js, Python, etc) 6. AdTech experience is required. **---- Preferred Qualifications ----** 1. Any experience in Ads Marketplace / Auction/ Bidding / Pacing will be very useful. 2. Industry experience working on distributed systems: developing reliable, high performance, highly scalable, real-time and low latency software 3. Demonstrable knowledge of the principles of fault-tolerance, reliability and durability. 4. Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
