Sr Project Manager
Job Description Overview The Business Payments Project Manager will lead large‑scale initiatives across the bank’s payments ecosystem, driving delivery of complex projects spanning EFT, ACH, payment APIs, push‑payment capabilities, onboarding workflows, and enterprise change programs. This role partners closely with technology, operations, compliance, and external vendors to ensure seamless end‑to‑end execution of payment modernization and transformation efforts. Key Responsibilities Project & Delivery Leadership Own end‑to‑end delivery of large, cross‑functional payments projects from initiation through deployment and post‑launch stabilization. Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and budgets across multiple workstreams. Lead requirements gathering, business process mapping, and solution design for payment products and operational flows. Drive delivery of EFT, ACH, real‑time push payments, and API‑based payment capabilities. Oversee onboarding and integration projects for new payment partners, clients, and internal systems. Payments Domain Expertise Serve as a subject‑matter expert on payment rails, clearing systems, settlement processes, and regulatory considerations. Support modernization of payment platforms, including API enablement, automation, and straight‑through processing. Partner with engineering teams to define functional requirements for payment APIs, file formats, messaging standards, and integration patterns. Stakeholder & Change Management Facilitate alignment across business lines, technology teams, compliance, risk, operations, and external vendors. Lead change‑management activities including training, communication, readiness assessments, and operational transition planning. Present project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and steering committees. Operational Excellence Identify process gaps and opportunities to improve payment accuracy, speed, and customer experience. Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Support incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Skills and Requirements 10+ years as a Project Manager Financial Indusrty experience - Banking Excellent communication skills Proven track record delivering large‑scale, complex projects in a regulated environment. Deep knowledge of EFT, ACH, push payments, payment APIs, file‑based payments, and onboarding workflows. Strong understanding of payment operations, settlement cycles, exception handling, and compliance considerations. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage senior stakeholders. Expertise in change management, process re‑engineering, and operational readiness. Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills. Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery methodologies. PayMod Project exposure Preferred Qualifications Experience with real‑time payments (RTP), FedNow, SWIFT, or cross‑border payment systems. Background in API product management or technical integration projects. PMP, Agile/Scrum certification, or equivalent experience. Commercial Banking experience / Treasury Payment Solutions background
