Sr Product Manager, Marketplace
**About the Role** Managing supply & demand volatility is critical to delivering a reliable and predictable delivery experience for Uber. As a **Senior Product Manager for Marketplace** , you will own the strategy and systems that dynamically adjust consumer-facing information to effectively manage demand during peak conditions. Your work will focus on building effective ways to reduce overload, preserve fulfillment quality, and align customer expectations. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** ---- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. **Own the product roadmap for delivery demand management** , focused on maintaining marketplace stability and service quality during periods of elevated demand. 2. **Leverage data, experimentation, and customer insights** to design mechanisms that influence ordering behavior and set clear expectations during peak conditions. 3. **Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Design** to execute against a multi-quarter roadmap with strong technical and analytical foundations. 4. **Define clear, prioritized product requirements** , balancing impact, complexity, and long-term marketplace health. 5. **Communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior stakeholders** , demonstrating strong ownership of key marketplace and customer experience metrics. ---- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. **5+ years of Product Management experience** , with ownership of complex consumer-facing and/or marketplace products 2. **Bachelor's degree** in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Economics, or a related technical or quantitative field. 3. **Proven experience leading large, cross-functional initiatives** , partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Operations teams. 4. **Strong product judgment and customer-first mindset** , with demonstrated ability to translate user needs and behavioral insights into scalable solutions. 5. **Comfort operating in technical, data-rich, and fast-moving environments** , with a track record of learning quickly and driving impact amid ambiguity. 6. **High bar for excellence** , including product quality, analytical rigor, collaboration, and personal ownership. ---- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. **Experience building or owning marketplace, pricing, or growth-related products** , particularly those operating in real-time or demand-variable environments. 2. **Demonstrated success working on systems that influence user behavior at scale** , such as ranking, incentives, availability controls, or other dynamic product mechanisms. 3. **Strong analytical and economic intuition** , with experience partnering closely with Data Science to interpret models, run experiments, and translate insights into product strategy. 4. **Background in platforms with complex tradeoffs** , where small product changes can have outsized impact on customer experience and marketplace outcomes. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
