We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr Principal Systems Engineer on our Engineering Team in McClellan (Sacramento), CA. 

 

What You'll Get to Do:

Conduct comprehensive reviews of government specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Allocate specifications to various system components, ensuring each component meets the required standards and performance criteria.Develop and maintain detailed system trees, decomposing systems into manageable components and sub-components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all specifications and allocations are clearly understood and integrated into the project plan.Utilize IBM Rational DOORS for managing and tracing specifications, ensuring traceability from high-level requirements to detailed system components.Participate in requirements verification and validation activities to ensure all government specifications are met.Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Matrices to ensure traceability between requirements and verification activities.Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of specification reviews, allocation processes, system tree decomposition, and verification activities.Provide training and support to team members on government specification requirements, system decomposition, verification processes, and cross-reference matrix development best practices.Ensure all systems engineering practices comply with regulatory and company standards, including any updates or changes in government specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with at least 9 years of technical experience in Software Engineering or a related discipline accompanied by high proficiency in technical development and problem solving across the full development lifecycle; Master’s degree with 7 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience

Ability to obtain and maintain a Collateral Secret clearance

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Requirements development, or

Verification planning, or

Cameo Architecture updates

Guidance Computer Requirements development

Strong Electrical Engineering background

Guidance Computer Verification Planning

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
